- ZExplorer checks for a new version once a day and shows a notification when there is one; each version is announced once.
- Check by hand with ZExplorer › Check for Updates….
- An Updates section in Settings: the daily check on or off, Check Now, and when it last ran.
- When a new version exists, the app menu adds Download ZExplorer …; ZExplorer never installs by itself.
- The window comes to the front when you open ZExplorer or click its Dock icon.
